I was watching Logo the other night when they did a little promo for the channel that featured a young woman who looked into the camera and said, "My sexuality is only a small part of who I am." Then she pauses and says, with a laugh, "But it's also a HUGE part of who I am!"
Exactly!

What gets me is when folks work so hard to make being gay a practical problem in society, and then go on about how obsessed gays are with being gay.
If my family’s rights were tied up in my hair color instead, I could forget about being gay… but being a brunet would rise to become a huge part of my life :-).
